A lost chihuahua has been returned to its owner thanks to the intervention of a Wiltshire Police PSCO.
On Saturday, PCSO Revers was flagged down to help with a lost dog in Westbury.
The missing pooch was found and looked after by a member of the public before being handed over to the community support officer.
The dog, which was discovered on The Ham, was not wearing a collar and so police were unable to locate the owner.
This led to a post on the Westbury Police Facebook page, asking for help to get the dog back home, and eventually, another post was made on the same page saying this had happened.
The spokesperson said: "This afternoon PCSO Revers was flagged down to assist with a lost dog in Westbury.
"Thanks to the kind member of the public who found and looked after her, and for the comment/shares on the previous post to help identify the owner.
"Family members had been out frantically searching and she has now been returned safe and sound.
"However we couldn't resist an extra post just for the chance to share another photo!
The previous post said: "Today, a beautiful dog was discovered on The Ham in Westbury. Regrettably, the dog does not have a collar and we have been unable to locate its owner.
"If anyone has information about the owner, kindly inform them to contact the Warminster Police Station to claim their pet. Please note that proof of ownership will be necessary."
