A WOMAN who was caught drink driving at a McDonald's drive-thru has been banned from getting behind the wheel.
Karin Laurant, 39, of Melksham, failed a roadside breath test at the Southampton Road fast-food restaurant on Friday, March 29.
She had taken a Kia Sportage into the drive-through while slightly over the drink-drive limit.
Laurant had 38 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of her breath. The legal limit is 35mcg.
Salisbury Magistrates' Court handed Laurant an obligatory driving disqualification of 12 months which she can reduce by three months upon completion of a course.
Laurant was also fined £120 and ordered to pay £85 costs as well as a £48 surcharge during the hearing on Friday, April 19.
She was given credit for her guilty plea.
