Chippenham MP Michelle Donelan has moved her office out of the town.
The Secretary of State for Science, Innovation and Technology has represented Chippenham in Parliament since 2015.
But in May 2023, she was selected as the Conservative Party parliamentary candidate for the new constituency of Melksham and Devizes and her team confirmed her move to Melksham.
She is set to fight for the seat in this year’s general election, with Nic Puntis replacing her as the Conservative candidate for Chippenham.
According to her team, moving the office to Melksham has been on the cards for a while, to extend it further than “just one part of the constituency.”
Although the new Melksham address has not yet been confirmed, it should be open for business within the next two weeks they say.
A spokesperson for Ms Donelan noted that the MP remains contactable via phone, letter or email and her Westminster office is unaffected by the move.
They also added that “only a minority of MPs have a shop presence” and the MP has one to be “as accessible as possible” for her constituents.
