Another housing development could be built in Chippenham beside the Rowden Park Garden Village site, which already received outline approval in 2017 for up to 1,000 homes.
Redcliffe Homes has now submitted an application to Wiltshire Council requesting full planning permission for a further 41 homes on land east of Patterdown Road.
The agricultural field is bordered by the Rowden Park Garden Village sites, including the third phase of homes, which are currently under construction.
Redcliffe Homes undertook public engagement for this addition in late 2023 and reported adjusting its ecological strategy in response to the concerns raised.
The application states: “The proposed buildings will have a traditional form and appearance with attention paid to the front door porches that give a particular character to the streetscape.
“All the proposed units will be 2 storeys.”
It also adds that the development would include green infrastructure, retained vegetation, new areas of green space, new tree planting, hedgerow and wildflower planting, new recreational routes and sustainable drainage features.
It concludes: “Redcliffe Homes seek to construct high quality homes which respond to the context through layout and materials together with ensuring the development achieves all the sustainability credentials required.”
Wiltshire Council should give its verdict by Monday, July 8.
