A former Barclays Bank branch in Trowbridge has failed to sell at a commercial property auction and is still available at £275,000.
The branch at 3 Fore Street, Trowbridge, was listed for sale as Lot 126 in the auction by commercial property agents Savills on Tuesday (March 19) with a price tag of £250,000.
They describe the premises as a “prominent former bank building of 2,351 sq ft (218.44 sq metres)” as being of interest to investors and developers.
The listing said: “The property comprises a vacant former bank situated in the heart of Trowbridge.
“Arranged across ground, first and second floors, the property provides approx. 2,351 sq ft (218.44 sq m) of accommodation.
“The property was formerly let to Barclays and is therefore fitted with a sales area/bank hall to the ground floor with offices and ancillary accommodation to the upper parts. There is a garden area to the rear.”
Savills say the property has potential for development or conversion, subject to obtaining the necessary planning consents from Wiltshire Council.
The branch closed on Friday, September 2, 2022, as part of a national cull of 75 branches by the UK ‘big four’ high street bank.
Its closure followed similar Barclays Bank closures in Devizes, Marlborough, Warminster and Westbury.
