The appearance and layout of 47 new homes have been approved on land approximately six miles west of Swindon.
The 3.56-hectare site is located on Restrop Road in Purton and sits just south of the recently completed 38-dwelling Persimmon development.
Outline planning permission for this development was granted in July 2022.
The houses will be a mix of detached, semi-detached and terraced dwellings, as well as maisonettes and bungalows, with 40 per cent affordable housing provision.
Some design elements have been reviewed since the original proposals, including the orientation of the homes, which has been adjusted to be “more efficient.”
According to the application, detailed drainage modelling revealed the need for larger surface water attenuation throughout the development, which has now been incorporated.
There will be a mix of driveway parking and garage parking for the homes that have one.
The application notes: “The proposed development will realign the public right of way that passes through the site.
“The footpath will be closed during the construction period of the proposed development due to health and safety.”
It adds: “A new pedestrian link through to Reid’s Piece to the east of the site has also been incorporated within the proposed design.”
The full details of the application can be found on the Wiltshire Council Planning and Building Control Public Register.
