Holt Morris Men have been dancing off their Christmas dinners as they took to the streets of Wiltshire on Boxing Day.
The Morris Men appeared in Holt, located between Melksham and Bradford on Avon, on december 26 for a special Boxing Day performance alongside female dancers from the Bells Angels.
The performance was certainly a sight to see for those out on their Boxing Day stroll, and crowds quickly formed to cheer on the dancers and join the excitement.
Known as one of England's earliest forms of dance, Morris dancing is a form of English folk dance based on rhythmic stepping, and the dancers wear costumes with bell pads and incorporate sticks, swords, handkerchiefs and other items within the dance.
Beginning outside the village shop, the high-spirited Morris Men performed at three locations throughout the village before ending down at the village green.
The group performed a broad mix of Cotswold Morris styles, although many of their dances are based on a liberal interpretation of the Fieldtown Morris tradition.
Although the performance was a spectacle for many, Holt Morris Men are not strangers to the people of Holt as they have been dancing in the village since 1989.
The Morris dancers first performed at a one-off village school fete 30 years ago and due to the success of the performance, they have continued to dance and spread cheer at Wiltshire events.
