Female entrepreneurs in Wiltshire who want to start their own business can sign up for a new course in 2024.

More UK businesses were founded by women than ever before last year, according to the latest Rose Report.

Now Edventure is introducing its newest course for women who fancy the idea of working for themselves.

The course is designed to empower even more women to navigate the world of self-employment. 

A spokesperson for Frome-based Edventure said: “No matter their age, background or stage in life, aspiring women seeking or starting to turn their ideas into reality are invited to enrol onto this in-person program that goes beyond traditional learning.

“Enterprising Women is not just a course; it's a hands-on journey for women to work on their own ideas or projects. 

“Supported by experienced facilitators, participants engage in a creative and dynamic design process to develop their ideas before choosing what tasks to focus their energy on: launching pop-up events, developing real world prototypes, or crafting business plans, for example.”

The course is based at the Edventure Hub in Frome and runs one a day week from February 21 2024.  Course times are 9.15am to 2.45pm with additional hours determined by participants.

Participants decide which guest speakers are invited in - it could be local female founders, finance experts, or marketing professionals.

The programme prioritises peer-to-peer learning within the group, providing individuals with valuable insights and support.

The spokesperson added: “Edventure's track record showcases real-world impact through projects like the UK’s first library of things and first community fridge, highlighting the power of experiential learning.”

“Many of the skills I learnt during my time with Edventure had a direct impact on my ability to confidently move forward into setting up my own project” says Lily, an alumni of Edventure’s long running start-up course.

“I joined Edventure because I wanted an education that really helps me find what I love to do and that teaches me about life.

"Edventure gave me a blank canvas to experiment on [and] to recognise what is truly right for me,”  said Camilla, a past student.
