ONE of the newest shops in Trowbridge has just opened in one of the town’s oldest buildings.
The new leaseholder Jo Gomme is aiming to tap into the spiritual side of life in her new business premises.
Jo has launched her shop, Colour & Crystals, in the 15th century Hall House building opposite the town’s St James’ parish church.
Jo said she is excited to be renting a place with so much history attached to it.
She said: “I’m told the building is from the late 14th century and is Grade II listed.
“I decided to move in after doing the Trowbridge Weavers Market for the past two years. I needed a hub and a meeting place.”
Jo’s business will be selling crystals, incense, cauldrons and backflow burners, as well as tarot and oracle cards, earrings, rings and pendants.
“It is a little piece of Glastonbury brought up to Trowbridge,” said Jo, 51, who lives in Bradford on Avon, and whose shop opened on December 12.
In a room upstairs, Beth Nyamayka will be giving tarot readings and performing reiki complementary therapy healings.
The pair will also be organising complementary therapy workshops and courses.
The shop premises were formerly occupied by DK Residential Sales & Lettings, which closed its business at the end of March.
