Trowbridge Weavers Christmas Market will still go ahead indoors as heavy weather is imminent.

Outdoor stalls in Fore Street have been cancelled because of the expected heavy rainfall and strong winds of up to 50mph.

But the Christmas Market will still go ahead inside Emmanuel’s Yard in Church Street with the traders taking part, say the organisers.

Cllr Stewart Palmen said: “Winds and rain forecast is too much for a safe outdoor market.

“But we will be continuing with more stalls in Emmanuel's Yard so please come out and brave the weather to support these great stallholders!”

The volunteer-run market brings independent traders, live music, arts, street food and, most importantly - people - to the centre of Trowbridge to make the second Saturday of the month a festival atmosphere for people of all ages.

The dates for 2024 are likely to be May 11, June 8, July 13, August 10, September 14, October 12, November 9 and December 14.
