Online restaurant reservation service OpenTable has released its top 100 restaurants in the UK and only one venue from Wiltshire made the cut.

The list is compiled from more than 1.2 million diner reviews and uses metrics like dinner ratings, percentage of reservations made in advance and five-star reviews.

And The Bell Inn in Purton-Stoke, Swindon, made the cut.

OpenTable said: "The list highlights some of the top spots favoured by diners this year. "

The pub/restaurant is managed by Kaileigh and Guy Tasker, who were previously at the Langley Tap, on the outskirts of Chippenham, and formerly of The Weighbridge Brewhouse and The Three Crowns in Brinkworth.

In 2022, the venue won the Total Swindon Best Sunday Lunch award as voted for by members of the public.

It has been reviewed 792 times on OpenTable and has a current rating of 4.8 out of 5.

Some of the popular dishes on its menu include the aforementioned Sunday lunch, a beef and black pudding stack, and belly pork.

One OpenTable reviewer said: "Excellent food cooked to perfection, the best quality food for miles around, can not fault at all. Long may this continue for a revisit."

Another added: "Second time visiting The Bell and the food was again excellent, the staff very friendly and an amazing overall experience."
