Often regarded as the ‘hidden gem’ of Warminster, The Coffee Garden is a coffee shop with a reputation of friendly staff and delicious coffee and cake.
The inside area is cozy and warm with a very welcoming atmosphere. On the counter, there is a little fairy door and the staff have planted two little ‘fairies’ around the shop for young children to find and eagerly point out to their parents. There is also a jar of dog treats for any customers who wish to have their pup share their company. If you go through the shop, you will find the hidden garden with more seating outside. In the summer, it can provide both sun and shade and, in the winter, there are blankets and the ‘coffee shack at the back’ which has heating in there to maintain a cozy and intimate atmosphere.
The coffee itself gets all-round great reviews and there is a wide range of drinks so there is a drink for everyone (not just coffee enthusiasts.) Most of the cakes are homemade (bar the gluten free options to reduce the danger of cross contamination) and the selection changes often to ensure that there is always a range of options, plus, it gives customers a chance to try something new.
The food is all prepared with pride, and the cooks take good care to ensure the food is tasty and presented well. Everybody raves about The Coffee Garden’s sausage rolls which are all homemade with care and they are all generous in size with the perfect ratio of pastry and sausage. There is also the option to have the pork and chilli sausage rolls and also vegan sausage rolls, all of which, still homemade.
I spoke with one of the managers of the coffee garden about what it is like to work there, and she said her favourite part of working there was ‘probably the people who come in. We have a lot of lovely regulars, and we get to know them and know their drinks and their likes, and their dislikes and things and you meet a lot of lovely people.’
