Newcomers Harriet and Aaron Baines of Horse Road, Hilperton, shared with neighbours the exciting news they were “embarking on a home improvement” project that would enhance their living space.

But days after sending out their note, work began on a large-scale loft conversion that now towers over the garden fences of their neighbours and overlooks their homes.
Mr and Mrs Baines had claimed in their note they had permitted development rights to go ahead with the work.
But when neighbours began sending objections to Wiltshire Council they were later told they actually need planning permission.
One of them, Raymond Hazel, said: “The development work that has been constructed is overbearing/obtrusive and not in keeping with the area and removes privacy from our property.
Hilperton Parish Council chairman Ernie Clark has ‘called-in’ their planning application, which is due to be discussed by its members at a meeting on Tuesday, November 14.
Residents have until Thursday, October 26 to comment on the couple's plans. Wiltshire Council hopes to make a decision by November 23.
Mr and Mrs Baines have been approached for comment.
