A motorcyclist has died following a serious three-vehicle crash which closed a key road in Wiltshire.

Both Wiltshire and Avon and Somerset Police were called to reports of a collision on the B3099 Marsh Road at Standerwick, between Frome and Dilton Marsh, at around 5pm on Tuesday, August 22.

The rider of a motorbike, a man in his 30s, suffered fatal injuries in the incident and died at the scene.

Two other vehicles were believed to have been involved but no other injuries were reported.

Avon and Somerset Police will now lead the investigation into the collision, which took place just over the border from Wiltshire.

Investigating officers have since appealed for any witnesses to come forward.

After confirming the death, a spokesperson for the force said: “Our thoughts are with his loved ones at this time, and they are being offered support from a specially-trained family liaison officer.

“Officers are keen to speak with anyone who witnessed the collision or has any relevant footage which can aid enquiries.
