Police have closed the main route through a Wiltshire village after a “serious collision” between a car and a motorcycle.
The crash took place on the B3099 at Dilton Marsh, near Westbury, shortly after 5pm and officers confirmed they were in attendance at the scene shortly after.
The road, which is a key route through the village, has been closed while the incident is dealt with and members of the public have been urged to seek alternative routes.
A spokesperson for the force said: “We are currently in attendance at a serious collision on the B3099 at Dilton Marsh involving a motorcyclist and a car.
“The incident happened shortly after 5pm.
“The road has been closed at Dilton Marsh whilst the incident is dealt with.
“Please seek an alternative route.”
Police are yet to confirm if the B3099 has been reopened, but traffic maps indicate heavy congestion in the area.
