DOZENS of drivers have been caught drastically exceeding the speed limit on a road many children cross to get to a skate park.
Highworth Community Speed Watch was set up on a new site on Swindon Road after receiving concerns from residents about the dangers of children using it.
The volunteers monitored a section of the road between the Fox and Redlands Roundabout for just over an hour in their first session on Thursday, August 19, in the new location.

Within that time 29 drivers surpassed the 30mph legal limit.
To make matters even worse, 13 of those were going at least 40mph which increases the likelihood of a fatality from seven per cent to 25 per cent.
One motorist was clocked reaching a high of 48mph as they passed the petrol station on that road.
The following day the team went back out and recorded another 36 vehicles speeding in an hour, with 10 above 40mph and two above 45mph.
All of this data has been passed on to Wiltshire Police.
A spokesman for the community safety group said: "Now we are reporting data, Wiltshire Police can be expected to also run speed checks at this location."
