SPORTS Direct has finally ended the long wait for customers to browse around its new retail store in Trowbridge.
The sportwear retailer opened the doors of its new store at The Gateway shopping centre on Friday (August 18) with a 50 per cent off sale.
A spokesperson for the company’s owner, the Frasers Group, said: “We are pleased to be opening a new elevated Sports Direct store on Friday, 18 August at The Gateway, Trowbridge.
“The upsized store will give Wiltshire customers access to the world’s best sport and lifestyle brands, including NIKE, Adidas and Under Armour, as well as bring other brands from the Frasers Group ecosystem, including USC and GAME, to the location.”
The new unit opened at 9am on Friday a day after its previous store closed at The Shires shopping centre.
The Game store - a sister company within Mike Ashley’s Frasers Group - had already closed its unit at The Shires prior to moving into the new Sports Direct store.
Sports Direct has relocated next to another Ashley-owned company, Evans Cycles, which moved into a unit vacated by women’s retail fashion chain New Look earlier this year.
