Primark has officially announced that it will be opening the doors of its new Salisbury location before the end of next month -  - with a live DJ to welcome shoppers through the door!

The official opening of the 29,700-square-foot store in the old British Homes Stores (BHS) building at the Old George Mall is scheduled for Wednesday, September 13.

Primark said the opening of the new store comes as part of a £140m investment in new retail across the UK and will create more than 100 jobs in Salisbury. The store began recruiting new employees on Monday, July 3.

A statement from Primark said: “Primark Salisbury is the retailer’s first new store opening in England in over two years and will become Primark’s 192nd in the UK.”

They added: "Primark Salisbury shoppers can look forward to shopping the bestselling Primark products they know and love across ladieswear, menswear, kidswear, beauty, lifestyle, homeware and more.

Salisbury customers looking to get their Primark fix in the meantime can continue to shop Primark products at the nearby Basingstoke, Winchester or Southampton stores. Customers can use our online stock checker to check availability on their favourite styles before heading in-store."

Primark Salisbury store manager told the Journal in July: "We know that Salisbury shoppers have been eagerly awaiting the opening, so we can’t wait to welcome them to the store."
