STAFF and visitors to County Hall in Trowbridge have welcomed the launch of a new café.
A pair of Trowbridge businessmen have launched the new BeeTees Café to serve scores of Wiltshire Council staff as well as visitors to Trowbridge library and the reception area.
Ben and Tom Morgan, who own the BeeTees Café-Bar in Market Street, launched their new venture on Monday (August 7).
They will serve hot and cold food and drinks to Wiltshire Council staff and visitors to the café in the atrium at County Hall.
Trowbridge Town Council leader and Wiltshire councillor Stewart Palmen welcomed the launch, saying: “Great to see this! Should bring some more life back to County Hall making it a great place to meet!”
Cllr Ian Blair-Pilling, Wiltshire Council’s Cabinet Member for Facilities Management, said, “We’re really excited to see a café open again in the atrium at County Hall, and want to extend a warm welcome to the team from BeeTees operating the café.
“We look forward to seeing lots of people using this facility, whether it’s members of public who have come to visit the library or reception or staff members working in the office.”
Tom and Ben Morgan said: “We are very excited with this new venture. It’s going very well and we are really happy with it.
“We have had people queuing up for food and drinks and have been very well received by staff and members of the public.
“The facilities management team at County Hall have been absolutely amazing in helping us to get the café up and running.
“We have managed to get everything ready within three weeks of learning that we had won the contract. It has just been crazy.
“We have taken on three new employees and now have a team of 40 people who operate across all of our sites. We are looking to take on more as the business grows.
The new venture will offer barista-style coffee, light bites and other refreshments to staff and visitors to the Wiltshire Council reception desk and the Trowbridge library.
It will open Monday to Friday from 8am to 4.30pm and on Saturday from 9am to 2pm.
The café closed when the Covid-19 pandemic hit and council staff began working from home during the lockdowns.
Now that employees have been asked to return to their offices, the time was right to reopen the café under new management.
