A new mobile meat service has been unveiled in town, with the promise of bringing down prices for people looking for their chops, mince and sausages.
Troy Catley is well-known to Trowbridge residents by serving customers with a mobile dairy van at the town’s Fore Street market each Wednesday.
Now he is expanding the Catley family business by taking out a newly-commissioned purpose-built meat lorry and setting up at a pub car park on Friday.
Troy, from Trowbridge, has teamed up with butcher Brett Halcat to fill what they call a gap in the market.
Troy said: “This is a venture aimed at bringing low-priced meat food stocks out to customers in their district.
“With our buying powers with the Catley warehouse at Commerce Park just outside Trowbridge we can offer this meat service at wholesale prices and lower the cost of a family’s food bill.
“We launched it last Friday at the car park of the Kings Arms at Hilperton and it’s been a real success.
“Customers have praised our new venture and said it’s helped them with the cost of living.”
