Two boys smashed the front windscreen of a lorry after throwing rocks off a footbridge over one of Wiltshire's busiest roads.
Police have launched an appeal for dashcam footage or witnesses after the terrifying incident on the A350 in Chippenham on Thursday (May 25).
It took place at around 7.50am on West Cepen Way, at the footbridge near Chippenham Rugby Club.
The driver of the lorry was able to maintain control of his vehicle and was left shaken but uninjured.
Police appealed for anybody who was driving along that road at that time and may have dashcam footage of anybody on the footbridge to please get in touch with them.
PC Gemma Henson said: “This was an incredibly reckless and dangerous thing to do and it is incredibly fortunate that the boys’ actions didn’t lead to a collision.
“That stretch of the road is the national speed limit so any kind of collision at that speed could easily be fatal.”
