PEOPLE in Westbury are being invited to take a trip back into the past at a photographic exhibition spanning the town’s history.
More than 100 fascinating shots of the market town’s history are on display at Westbury Museum in a photographic exhibition.
And if you have ever wondered how to date and conserve your old family photographs, help is at hand.
Archivist Julie Davis, of the Wiltshire and Swindon History Centre, will be centre stage for a talk about the subject on Tuesday, March 28.
The talk at the Methodist Church in Station Road starts at 7.30pm and everyone is welcome.
The special exhibition ‘Westbury Life Through A Lens’ is on at Westbury Museum until April 29. Entry is free and everyone is welcome.
Sally Hendry, Chair of Westbury Heritage Society, said: “It features themed displays on subjects from sports and events through to the town’s lost industries such as clothmaking, gloving, tanning, cigarette manufacture and much more.
“Along with information boards tracing the history of photography there are cabinets displaying cameras and even a Victorian stereoscope complete with slides.”
The museum is on the first floor of Westbury Library and is open on Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Saturday during library opening times.
