POLICE who have recovered two high value motorbikes looking for a group of men travelling in a Volkswagen Golf.
The theft occurred on February 20 between 2am and 2.30am in the North Bradley area. It is possibly linked to a break in at the Premier convenience shop in nearby Southwick shortly beforehand.
A police spokesperson said: “Thankfully, these bikes were located nearby and the owners have them back, however this appears to be a part of a wider series of motorbike thefts in the area with several other incidents locally.
“CCTV has captured a group of males who leave in a Volkswagen Golf responsible for this. The Golf is believed to be white, however lighting makes it difficult to tell as well as ID the males responsible.”
Wiltshire Police are appealing for anyone who may have seen or heard people acting suspiciously in the area, or believes they may have CCTV of this vehicle around these times, to contact 101 quoting reference 54230018700.
They would also like to remind people to:
- Secure any high value items out of sight of passers-by;
- Consider using immobilizers or alarms for your bikes;
- Think about CCTV covering your driveways, in particular doorbell cameras;
- Think about installing motion-activated lighting, which can be a deterrent; and
- Dial 999 if you see anyone acting suspiciously in the early hours.
