POLICE have appealed for witnesses following an assault in Trowbridge in which a woman was pushed in the face and had her mobile phone stolen.
The incident happened on Thursday (February 16) at around 11.50pm on the footpath behind Barn Glebe, linking towards Farris Way/Oxford Gardens.
The female victim was walking her dog and challenged another dog walker whose pet was off the lead.
The suspect pushed her in the face with his open palm and snatched her phone from her hands, which he later discarded in a hedgerow.
He is described as a white male, around 5ft 8ins to 6ft tall, of slim athletic build, with crooked teeth and a brown-coloured beard.
He was wearing a cream knitted hat with a logo and a dark coloured zip puffer jacket.
The suspect was with a chocolate Labrador called Harvey and walked from the Oxford Garden direction, later running off in that direction.
A police spokesperson said: “We have been given a short piece of doorbell footage of the suspect and would like to hear from anyone who recognises him or has more footage.
