A Wiltshire College & University Centre presence is to return to Westbury for the first time in more than a decade.
Westbury Community Project has worked with Wiltshire Council’s engagement and partnerships team and Westbury Area Board, to help the college provide high quality learning opportunities in the town on a range of subjects.
It will now offer several lessons on Monday to Friday afternoons, covering subjects such as basic maths, employability, customer services and digital skills.
Lessons will be held at the Westbury Community Project building on Eden Vale Road, Westbury, following a community redevelopment and renovation project.
Wiltshire Council cabinet member for communities Ashley O’Neill, said: “We want to see vibrant well-connected communities in the county and we’re pleased to have played our part in a project that will have such a positive impact on the future of local people in Westbury.”
Cllr Matthew Dean, chair of Westbury Area Board, said: “We are delighted to have worked with Wiltshire College & University Centre and Westbury Community Project to help facilitate this project to such a positive outcome, which will see top quality lessons and valuable skills taught in the town.

Richard Hatt, chair of trustees at Westbury Community Project, said: "In 2017 when the community came together to forge the vision the Westbury Community Project we did include the element of adult education being on offer for Westbury.
“On behalf of the trustees we are so grateful that Wiltshire College & University Centre and Wiltshire Council are prepared to invest in the dream of bringing the wonderful learning opportunities to our town.
“WCP listened carefully to the priorities of the community and, with the town council’s and area board’s wholehearted support, the dream is coming to fruition!
