ANOTHER day of industrial action by railway staff has affected train schedules.
Some GWR routes are running on an extremely limited service on Tuesday, January 3, due to the latest strikes - and some parts of the network will have no service at all.
Members of the Rail, Maritime and Transport union at Network Rail and 14 train operators are staging the first of two 48-hour walkouts, with the next one expected on Friday
On the lines affected, services started at 7.30am today and all journeys must be completed by 6.30pm. The Night Riviera service will not operate.
A GWR spokesman said: "Avoid travelling and seek alternative ways to make your journey. If you are intending to travel on these routes, please do so only if absolutely necessary.
"Trains that are operating will be extremely busy."
Tickets valid for travel on Tuesday's journeys can still be used up to and including January 10.
The industrial action will continue on January 4 and is expected to limit the amount of services available across the GWR network.
Passengers who have already purchased tickets for travel on strike days can claim refunds or amend tickets.
