INFORMATION on getting help with the cost-of-living crisis and finding warm spaces to meet is dropping through letter boxes of more than 14,000 homes across Trowbridge.
Trowbridge Town Council has put together a leaflet providing advice for people who are struggling to make ends meet and looking for some warmth and company in the winter months.
The council has also set up a web page listing warm spaces and services that offer support with financial problems.
Trowbridge mayor Graham Hill said: “This is going to be a tough winter for the Trowbridge community, with many of our residents facing soaring energy bills and higher prices in the shops.
“People who are having challenges should know they are not alone and plenty of help and support services are available. That’s why we have put all the key contacts together in one leaflet and one online location."
The project has been a joint effort by councillors and officers who are delivering the leaflet along with volunteers.
It includes warm places where people can meet in the town centre, such as the library, Town Hall and Park Club as well as in the town’s neighbourhoods.
Trowbridge Park Club, in the park, has agreed to run a new session from 12-3pm on Tuesdays for people seeking a hot drink and a chat.
Cllr Caroline Lincoln said: “We are very grateful to the club for extending its opening times to support more people as it has such good facilities in a central location.
"There are volunteers across the whole of Trowbridge offering a warm space so huge thanks to all who are supporting the community.”
If anyone wants to help deliver the leaflet, email info@trowbridge.gov.uk, call 01225 765072, or drop into the Information Centre at the Civic Centre.
Cllr Jo Trigg added: “More volunteers are always needed to support local charities in proving a cuppa and a chat in a warm space – so do get in touch if you can spare some time."

Meanwhile, Wiltshire Council has listed 105 warm spaces and 39 community food providers as it seeks to help the county’s residents through the cost-of-living and energy price rise crises.
In response to the crisis, a network of ‘warm spaces' have opened their doors across Wiltshire to help people stay warm this winter.
