A BBC Antiques Roadshow specialist attended Westbury Festival last week.
Marc Allun was at the Parish Room over the weekend where he got to speak to lots of people about their passion for all things antique.
He was on hand at the event to appraise people’s items from their homes to tell them more about the backstory and talk about its value, as well as sentimental meaning.
He told this newspaper: “My colleagues from Antiques Roadshow were all a bit tied up this year so I did it on my own.
“It was just about four hours of chatting to people about their things and there was a real mixture of stuff.
“It’s rather like sitting on the table at Antiques Roadshow.
“I’ve been professionally working in the antiques industry for 35 years and you never know what’s going to come next and every day there’s something new- that’s what keeps it fresh.”
The Westbury Festival is taking place in Wiltshire up until November 8, with all kinds of events happening in the area.
Over the weekend, local author and historian Sally Hendry also went on a heritage walk taking in 15 Westbury pubs as part of the festival.
