WESTBURY United A hit back from a goal down after only two minutes to win the EJ Shanley and Sons Ltd-sponsored Division Two Cup at Warminster Town's ground last night.
United won 3-1 to become the first team to beat Lavington in any competition this season and end the villagers' hopes of winning four trophies.
Lavington who are currently top of Division Two and have also reached the finals of the Knockout Cup and the A and B Cup, took the lead in the second minute with a header by Myles Hickton to take his goal tally for the season to well above 60.
After gaining a corner on 14 minutes Lavington had a good shot on target saved.
They continued to dominate the tie and James Campbell broke free but again the shot on target was saved.
After 22 minutes Westbury, who are currently fourth in Division Two, had a shot from a free kick shot saved by the Lavington goalkeeper, who up to then had been virtually a spectator.
After further domination by Lavington, one of Westbury's few shots on target in the 34th minute was turned around the near-post.
Lavington could still not increase their lead after more attacks and with five minutes of the half left 35-year-old Mark Pearce equalised from a rare Westbury corner.
After the break Westbury began to come more into the tie, without adding to their tally. Lavington could still not increase their lead following some very good shots.
After 73 minutes from a poor corner the experienced 38-year-old Steve Seals scored to give Westbury a 2-1 lead.
Lavington created even more chances but were unable to add to their score and near the final whistle Westbury made the game safe with a third goal 19-year-old Kieron Stone, who had come on as a second half substitute.
Lavington's Myles Hickton won the man-of-the-match award.
