Bromham Reserves slipped to five points behind leaders Broughton after losing 4-2 away to Bratton Reserves.

Two quick goals from Liam Griffiths got Bratton off to a perfect start, before Bromham pulled a goal back.

The second period then saw Bromham push forward in search of an equaliser but they were caught out on a quick break away which resulted in Bratton being awarded a penalty. The spot kick was put away by Dave Jones for a 3-1 lead.

With 20 minutes left Bromham pulled another goal back to make it 3-2, but Bratton saved left the best to last as Adam Berrisford scored with a 30 yard screamer, giving Bromham's goalkeeper no chance.

Broughton Gifford 3, The Stiffs 0

BROUGHTON Gifford go top of the table after a 3-0 home victory over The Stiffs.

Richard King opened the scoring for the hosts with a 30 yard shot and scored a second from a spectacular overhead kick.

The second half saw Broughton in total control but they could manage only one more goal, through Chris Turk.

Mere Town Youth 2, Great Western 2

GREAT Western, who started the day as leaders, had three men sent off as they were held to a 2-2 draw at Mere Town Youth.

Mike Blunsden put Great Western ahead after 36 minutes, but three minutes later the youngsters found themselves on level terms, through Channing Rendall.

On the stroke of half-time Great Western were reduced to ten men when Shane Godsell was sent off for foul language.

Twenty minutes into the second period Mere took the lead through Adam Scource, but Great Western then turned up the pressure and found the equaliser on 76 minutes as Patrick Ilott scored with a long range shot.

The game then saw a further two players dismissed as first Paul Newbury went for his second cautionable offence after 87 minutes and two minutes later Daniel Young for foul language.

Great Western finished with eight men and a share of the points.

Seend United Reserves 5, Calne Eagles 3

SEEND United Reserves beat Calne Eagles 5-3 in a game that contained some very good finishing from both sides.

The Eagles started brightly and took the lead after only 10 minutes when player-manager Roy Wenham headed home a Danny Thompson free kick. They extended their lead when Jamie Davies finished powerfully from a tight angle.

Seend came back strongly and after 25 minutes Dan Humphries hammered home a shot at the far post following a corner that was not fully cleared.

Moments later they were level when Danny Thompson was caught in possession on the edge of the box and the ball broke kindly to Humphries, who confidently struck his shot past goalkeeper Andy Windsor.

Then with half-time fast approaching, Seend took the lead through Dan Humphries, who got the better of two Calne defenders following a long pass upfield to complete his hat-trick.

Calne regained their composure at the start of the second half as they searched for a way back into the game, but two superb individual goals, the first by Dave Castle and the second from Dan Humphries, again put the game seemingly beyond Calne's reach.

With 10 minutes remaining a superb long distance shot from veteran striker Nick Cawley gave the Eagles some hope. Only moments later both Adam Bewley and Steve Roberts had good chances to score for Calne, which might have had set up an interesting last few minutes, but Seend United hung on to claim a deserved three points.

Trowbridge Wanderers 1, FC Chippenham Youth A 2

SPRING Cup winners Trowbridge Wanderers must have still been suffering from a hangover as they lost 2-1 at home to FC Chippenham Youth A.

Chris Hubbard put Wanderers in front after 15 minutes, but they couldn't hold onto the lead as ten minutes later Chippenham were level when Tom Highmore scored.

The second period saw efforts from both teams before John Ingram scored the winner for Chippenham.
