AN exhibition opens today in Trowbridge Museum charting the history of Bowyers in the town.
The company has moved on a long way since it was founded by Abraham Bowyer in the early nineteenth century.
In 1960, sales reached an all time high of £3m and in 1992 Bowyers was the largest producer of fresh sausages in the country!
Sadly, production will end at the site on March 28.
Trowbridge Museum wants to mark the end of an era with a Bowyers exhibition.
The exhibition themes will include the Early Years, the War Years and the Wiltshire Banger There will be numerous staff memories for people to read too!
Among the objects on display will be a cuddly pork pie and a Bowyers delivery bicycle.
Museum Curator Clare Lyall said: "Bowyers has been part of Trowbridge's history since 1808 and we want to commemorate that."
