Things are set to get easier for people wanting to get to and from Bath more regularly.
It has been announced that Faresaver has just bought two new low carbon, single deck buses.
The Chippenham based company has already recently been successful in retaining a number of local bus services.
These include the Chippenham Town Services, Chippenham to Colerne and Chippenham to Sutton Benger and surrounding villages.
The contracts have meant adding existing buses onto these new routes- so the two new buses will now service the Chippenham Bath X31 route and Devizes to Bath 271 route.
Justin Pickford, director of Faresaver said: “Since we took over the X31 and 271 routes from First Bus we have seen incremental growth in passenger numbers.
"COVID obviously had an impact on bus services, but we have maintained essential services with government support.
“Passenger numbers are now returning strongly and we are looking at increasing future passenger numbers which justifies the investment in these enhanced vehicles.
"The buses are the latest Euro VI low carbon vehicles and are fully compliant with the Bath Clean Air Zone.
"This brings our total number of clean air compliant vehicles to 50, a major milestone for us.”
