MORE than 100 colourful hot air balloons are set to take to the skies above Longleat as part of its spectacular Sky Safari from September 9-11.
Now in its fifth year, the three-day festival features daily mass launches, night glows set to music and a host of other fun activities including model balloon flight demonstrations, street entertainment and catering outlets.
Colourful balloons in all shapes and sizes will be joining in the fun including Longleat’s very own lion-shaped hot air balloon.
They will be joined by a menagerie of animal-themed hot air balloons including a koala, cheetah, wolf and a penguin.
The event attracts balloon crews from as far afield as Alaska, to take part in the internationally accredited competition.
For the first time, this year’s festival will feature a third night glow on Sunday where tethered balloons fire up their burners in time to a musical soundtrack.
The three-day festival is in addition to the Park’s usual attractions, including the drive-through Safari, Koala Creek, Longleat House, Jungle Cruise, Longleat Railway, Adventure Castle, Jungle Kingdom and many more attractions.
Admission to the event is free with a valid day ticket or Annual Pass (selected dates), however advance online booking is recommended as it is likely to prove very popular. Visit www.longleat.co.uk/whats-on/sky-safari.
