There’s a group of greyhounds in Wiltshire that have a buzzing social calendar year-round, it seems.
Monkton Park GGW are treated to things like coffee shop trips, and were recently taken to the Black Dog Coffee Co. in Devizes
They go on lots of long walks in the group, and on September 25 they are having a get together as part of the Global Greyhound Walk at the 10th Hole Tea Room in Monkton Park.
Monkton Park GGW will be walking through Chippenham, with around 80 dogs expected to attend on the day as part of the worldwide fundraiser.
The goal for the event is to get 10,000 greyhounds together on that day across the world in 19 different countries to raise awareness of what great pets ex-racing greyhounds can make.
Seven stallholders are also joining on the day so people can pop along and make some purchases.
Ann Stanford who runs the group said: “It always brings a tear to my eye on the day.
“I think greyhounds get overseen a lot because people just assume that because they run for a living they’ll be a nightmare to own but that’s not the case at all and they’ve all got their different personalities.”
