A local man has been arrested on suspicion of drugs offences after police stopped a vehicle in Trowbridge.
At around 12.45pm yesterday officers stopped a black Vauxhall Astra in Seymour Road.
They carried out a search of the car and seized a large quantity of cannabis and other drugs paraphernalia.
The driver, a 21-year-old local man, was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class B drugs.
He was taken to police custody, interviewed and subsequently released under investigation while police enquiries continue.
Sergeant Charly Chilton, from the local policing team, said: “Our officers are continuously working to disrupt the supply of illegal drugs in our local community.
“Illegal drugs of all kinds cause a huge amount of issues, not only relating to the vulnerability of users who buy these drugs, but also the associated criminality, violence, exploitation and anti-social behaviour that comes hand-in-hand with dealing.
“If you have any information about drug dealing then please report it to us. No matter how small the piece of information is, it will be logged as intelligence and helps us build up a picture of illegal activity in the town.”
To report your concerns please call police on 101 or go online to the Wiltshire Police website. Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
