Storm Eunice has ripped a section of the roof off the Castle Place shopping centre in Wiltshire.
Following the incident, which left debris in the roadway this morning, emergency services have blocked section of Trowbridge town centre (18 February).
Winds in Trowbridge are expected to reach up to 35mph by mid-day today, and residents have been urged to stay inside.
According to Wiltshire 999s, a spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “We have received a report of damage to a roof in Trowbridge town centre so emergency services are on scene clearing the area.
“Roads may be closed while this takes place.”
Police officers have since told the Wiltshire Times they have now advised all shops to close in Trowbridge to minimise the safety risk to people who may be drawn in to the centre today.
