THE Swindon and Wiltshire Police & Crime Commissioner has launched a second consultation that aims to help shape his police and crime plan.

Residents can now download PCC Philip Wilkinson’s draft crime plan from his website (wiltshire-pcc.gov.uk) and give feedback on the proposals.

The plan will be finalised in march 2022 and sets out the pledges and priorities that Mr Wilkinson has for Wiltshire, as well as the blueprint for Wiltshire Police’s strategic policing and crime priorities until mid-2025.

Mr Wilkinson’s top four priorities according to the draft document are; a police service that meets local need, reduce violence, tackle crimes that matter to the community and improve the experience of victims and deliver justice.

Mr Wilkinson’s draft plan was also informed by responses from public and victim confidence surveys, his election pledges, the UseYourVoice survey, which saw nearly 3,000 individual responses, as well as responses from more than 1,000 young people surveyed by his Youth Commission.

Alongside being able to download a copy of the draft plan and comment, the public can also attend one of four virtual public sessions where Mr Wilkinson will present his draft plan and ask for feedback.

Sessions, held on Facebook Live, on January 6, 13, 17 between 6.30pm to 7.30pm.

He added: “I had hoped to hold these public events in person but, due to the increase in covid cases, we have taken the decision to hold these events online.

“That way our residents can still use their voice to influence the process but in a safe environment. I do hope that as many people as possible will be able to join me to feedback their thoughts."
