TROWBRIDGE Town Council will adopt the Armed Forces Covenant.
At its latest meeting, Trowbridge councillors unanimously voted to adopt the covenant, which seeks to ensure serving members and veterans are never disadvantaged.
Chairman of the Trowbridge Royal British Legion, Captain Roy Zaman said that covenant was a step forward in the government showing appreciation for the armed forces and veterans.
“Trowbridge is a military town through and through,” he said.

“It has decades of history and thousands of veterans and hundreds if not thousands of serving personnel living in this town.
“To adopt the Armed Forces Covenant would show this council takes seriously the issue of not disadvantaging servicemen, veterans and their families. Please, please support the motion.”
The motion to sign the covenant was proposed by Cllr Antonio Piazza. The councillors agreed to approve and sign the pact unanimously.
