PLANS to demolish a Trowbridge pub and build housing in its place have been submitted.
Developer Selwood has put in an application to knock down the John Bull on Westfield Road and build 10 family houses.
A pre-application bid went through the council last year where officers agreed in principle with the plans but that more thought needed to be given to the layout of the plans.
Officers added: “As a major development public open space should be included unless it can be demonstrated that adequate provision exists locally.

"Overall it is considered that the layout of the development detracts from the character and appearance of the area and requires further consideration.”
The developer said plans had been re-worked with the feedback in mind. The new proposals would see five houses closest to the road be semi-detached with a “small” three house terrace.
All of the properties are proposed to be two-storey houses in-keeping with the rest of the area, the developers say.
The development would comprise of four three-bedroom houses and six two-bed units.
