AFTER a year-long wait, a Trowbridge contestant is finally getting her chance to compete in a national pageant.
Destinie-Mae Greenland will represent Wiltshire in the Miss Teen Great Britain final which is going ahead on October 25 at The Globe Theatre in Blackpool.
The 19-year-old has just moved to a new job in financial services in Chippenham.
She said: "I’m very excited for the finals, I've also been completing charity work and fundraising where possible."
The former Clarendon Academy pupil was due to take part in the Miss Teen Great Britain national final in October last year but it was postponed because of the Covid-19 pandemic restrictions.
In the meantime, she's raised over £760 for her chosen charity, Together for Short Lives.
Miss Greenland has been invited to attend an open day at Hagg Hill Farm in Semington on Saturday hosted by Noel Fehily, the retired jockey, for his horse-racing syndicate group.
Miss Greenland said: "There will be other jockeys and a horse parade. I'm delighted to be supporting a local business on a lovely farm."
