ONE of Bradford on Avon's most popular pubs has finally reopened after collapsing into administration last year.
The Castle Inn opened its doors on Thursday, June 10 after a make-over inside and out.
The pub lease has been bought by Kate Hooper, manager of the Seven Stars at Winsley, and a local property investor who wishes to remain anonymous.
Kate, 42, said: "We are very pleased and excited. People have been coming in and saying they are delighted to see the pub open again."
The Castle Inn was formerly part of the Country Pub Group Ltd, which collapsed into receivership during the first Covid-19 pandemic lockdown in 2020, after being forced to close in March last year.
It will be managed by Toby Wilson, 34, who was general manager of the pub when it went into lockdown.
He and Kate Hooper are recruiting new chefs and bar staff and hope to open the pub fully for food and drinks by early July.
The pub is open from 3pm-10.30pm Monday to Friday, and from 12 noon to 10.30pm on Saturday, and from 12 noon to 9pm on Sunday, for drinks only.
From June 28, it will open daily from 12 noon to 10.30pm.
The new management team plan to start serving meals when the new chefs arrive.
Country Pub Group Ltd also managed The Battleaxes in Wraxall in Somerset, The Mendip Inn at Shepton Mallet, and The Temple Inn at Temple Cloud before it collapsed.
