Southwick: Ian Cundick and Alice Cundick trading as Magic Waste Solutions of 26 Bences Lane, Costa are applying for a good vehicle operators licence to use Unit 2, The Yard, 3 Poplar Tree in Southwick as the operating centre for three goods vehicles. Those who wish to comment on this application must contact the Trade Commissioners Office by April 18.

Chippenham: German supermarket giant, Lidl, has applied for a licence to sell alcohol at its Chippenham location on Pension Way. It is proposed that the shop will sell booze for consumption off premises between 7am and 11pm Monday to Sunday. To comment on the licence bid, concerned parties to write to the Wiltshire Council licencing team at: County Hall, Bythesea Road, Trowbridge, BA14 8JN.

Calne: East Gourmet Ltd has applied for an alcohol licence at the Lucky Boat on 9 Wood Street in the town. The application seeks to carry on the current licence for alcohol sales for consumption off premises between Sunday and Saturday 11am to 11pm and on New Year’s Eve until 1am.

Marlborough: Image Cinemas has applied for new premises licence at The Parade Cinema in Marlborough. The company will allow for the sale for alcohol to be consumers on-site at the cinema between 9am and 11pm Monday to Sunday. The bid also includes a bid to have live in- and outdoor music Monday to Sunday between 9am and 10pm and recorded music between the same hours. Screenings, as proposed by Image Cinemas, will be screened between 9am and midnight all week.

Marlborough: The Marlborough and District LINK scheme annual general meeting will be held on Saturday, March 27 with all welcome to join. The meeting will be held via Zoom at 10am and those who wish to attend the meeting should email jeffsherwood@talk21.com.

Britford: The A354 Britford to Coombe Bissett from it’s junction with Footpath 13 for three kilometres south has closed from Monday, March 15. The works, which are set between 7am and 7pm will finish on April 9. Motorists are asked to take the unaffected portion of the A354, the A338, A31 and A350 as the council carries out road resurfacing.

East Knoyle: The A350 East Knoyle, Sedgehill and Semley, Donhead St Mary and North Dorest will be closed from April 8 to April 21 for resurfacing. The closure will affect the road from its junction with the A303 to where it meets Ivy Cross. Drivers are urged to take the B3081, B3092, A303 and vice versa.

Lyneham: On March 9 Wiltshire Council put into place a new set of speed restrictions on the A3102. Firstly, there will be a new 40mph limit on the A3102 at Lyneham and Bradenstoke, as well as a 50mph limit at Hilmarton and Lyneham and Bradenstoke. As part of this project a new puffin crossing will be installed at the A3102 Calne Road at 63 metres north east of its junction with Melsome Road.

Dilton Marsh: Ben Perkins Ltd of 64A Clay Close has put in a bid to change an existing Goods Vehicle Operator’s licence to allow the company to keep one new goods vehicle at its operating centre at Mayford Stables, Church Road, Heywood.
