A NEW pizza shop will be coming to Bank Street in Melksham following a successful planning bid by Papa John’s.
The popular pizza chain bid for a change of use of the unit at 12 Bank Street to that of a hot food takeaway, with some external and internal alterations.
However, not everyone will be happy, as 14 letters of objection were sent into the council regarding the shop.
Many of them highlighted the number of fast food or take away restaurants in the town and on Bank Street in particular.
Some fear it will have a negative impact on the local food businesses in Melksham.
Barry Davies, of Bath Road, Melksham, said: “I also note there are double yellow lines to the front of the property.
"How will customers be prevented from illegally parking here?
"This is close to a major junction of the town centre, illegal parking here would be extremely disruptive.”
