THESE are the people who have appeared in magistrates' courts at Salisbury and Swindon recently:
TROWBRIDGE: Ryan Alexander Cottle, 23, of Cockhill, was given a community service order to carry out 140 hours of unpaid work over a period of 12 months after he pleaded guilty to a drug-driving offence on the A3102 at Melksham on October 3 2019. He was banned from driving for 18 months, and told to pay a £90 victim surcharge and £170 costs. He pleaded guilty to three separate drug-driving offences at Masefield Road,Warminster, on January 5; guilty to driving with a bald offside front tyre on the same date; and guilty to having no insurance for the vehicle. Cottle pleaded guilty to two separate offences of possessing the Class A drug cocaine and the Class B drug cannabis in Warminster on January 5. The court ordered the drugs to be destroyed. Cottle also pleaded guilty to possessing 9.76 grams of cocaine at Devizes on March 6; and to a drug-driving offence on St Johns Street, Devizes, on the same date. He pleaded guilty to possessing the Class B drug, cannabis, on the same date; and guilty to possessing two tablets of Pregablin, a Class C drug, in Devizes on the same date; as well as another drug-driving offence in Devizes on the same date.
DEVIZES: Kevin Matthew James Waters, 39, of Rendells Court, was charged with three separate offences of being drunk and disorderly in a public place in Devizes on March 30 at Little Brittox, on April 16 at Spitalcroft Road and on May 16 at Rendells Court. The case was adjourned to October 20.
TROWBRIDGE: Jason Wallace, 47, of Langford Road, was charged with stealing three perfumes worth £156 from Boots the Chemist in Trowbridge on November 14 2019, and dishonestly making off without payment of £7 at the Trowbridge Lodge service station on November 5 2019. He is also charged with stealing meat and groceries worth £60 from the Co-op in Trowbridge on April 4. The court issued a warrant for his arrest without bail.
TROWBRIDGE: Marcus Alveena Neal, 38, of Charles Street, was charged with three separate offences of dishonestly undertaking or assisting in the retention, removal, disposal or realisation of stolen tools at Gastard on July 26 2019, and of attempting to steal a catalytic converter at Chippenham on July 8 2019. The court issued a warrant for his arrest without bail.
MARLBOROUGH: Luke Charles Oliver, 26, of Rogers Meadow, was charged with two separate offences of assaulting two police officers at Swindon on November 13 2019; of being found drunk in a public place in Edgware Road, Swindon, on the same date while being in charge of a child aged under seven years, and of wilfully obstructing a police office in the course of his duty on the same date. He was remanded on unconditional bail to October 15.
MELKSHAM: Oliver Gordon Piper, 27, of Church Street, was charged with stealing goods worth £100 from the Co-op in Chippenham on October 29 2019. His case was adjourned to October 28.
CALNE: Megan Paige Wilkinson, 21, of The Rise, was charged with assaulting a man by beating him at Calne on December 15. She was remanded on unconditional bail to October 11.
ROYAL WOOTTON BASSETT: Mahdi Hamdi Zada, 39, of Wood Street, pleaded not guilty to damaging the side of a vehicle at Swindon on October 5 2019, and not guilty to assault by beating a man in Swindon on the same date.
CHIPPENHAM: Matthew Russell Connors, 37, of Hamilton Drive, pleaded guilty to driving a vehicle carelessly on Box Hill, Corsham, on August 8 2019, and guilty to two separate offences failing to stop and failing to report an accident on the same date. His case was adjourned to October 19 at Swindon.
MALMESBURY: Samantha Claire Forward, 34, of Hobbes Close, pleaded guilty to stealing two bottles of Malibu worth £24 from the Co-Op in Gloucester Road, Malmesbury, on December 30 2019, and ordered to pay compensation of £135 and costs of £35. She also pleaded guilty to five other separate offences of stealing Malibu and vodka, together worth more than £126.50, from the same shop on January 2, January 9 and January 13, and on December 17 and December 28 2019. There was no separate penalty for these offences.
