A NEW crop circle mysteriously appeared yesterday (Saturday, May 30) close to Cley Hill near to Warminster.
Crop circle photographer Nick Best, of Skyview UK in Westbury, said: “This is the second formation this year, with the first believed to be near Avebury earlier in the week.
"No-one knows who created it but it was probably done on Friday night. Some people were talking about it yesterday."
It is not known if access to the field was arranged in order to create the crop circle.
It’s not the first time that crop circles have appeared in the Warminster area - one was reported near Norridge Wood last August.
Crop circles also appeared at Broad Hinton and at Hackpen Hill near Broad Hinton in July last year.
In none of these cases was access arranged to the fields in which they appeared.
The creation of crop circles - usually overnight - has been on the increase since the 1970s.
Nearly half occur within a 15-kilometre radius of the Avebury stone circle although crop circles have been known to appear further afield.
