Brigadier JT Jackson, Commander 43 (Wessex) Brigade, was guest speaker at a recent Wessex Business Breakfast.
Brigadier Jackson, who has served as an army officer for 30 years, spoke about leadership in peacetime.
During his career he has seen active service in Ireland, Dhofar and Bosnia. He is presently based at Bulford.
Writer Bel Mooney is scheduled to talk about keeping the balls in the air' at the next breakfast at Cumberwell Park, Bradford on Avon on November 30.
Her talk will centre on how she has juggled a career in journalism with writing books, her family and her involvement with charity work.
The breakfast starts at 7.30 am.
