A revised character assessment for the Bradford on Avon conservation area is out for public consultation.
West Wiltshire District Council has updated the assessment - originally adopted in 2001 - following Government advice. Once the new version has been approved, it will be used to measure development proposals within the conservation area.
The draft character assessment has been developed with the help of town and district councillors, local interest groups, Bradford on Avon Preservation Trust and local historians. It is available for inspection during normal opening hours at West Wiltshire District Council offices, on the council's website, Bradford on Avon library and the town council.
A copy is also available on the council's website www.westwiltshire.gov.uk under current consultations.
All comments should be made in writing to: Mark Russell, planning policy and conservation manager, West Wiltshire District Council, Bradley Road, Trowbridge, BA14 0RD no later than December 7, 2007.
Consultation responses will be considered by a policy project group in the council before the final assessment document is formally adopted early in 2008.
