THE Trowbridge Sports Centre has been temporarily closed following structural examinations exposing the need for urgent remedial works.
Members and users of the sports centre are encouraged to use other local venues while the investigations and works take place.
The centre has posted a note on its website saying “Please note the Centre is currently closed due to a technical issue.
“It will remain closed all day on Tuesday, 24th December. We are sorry for the inconvenience.”
Cllr Allison Bucknell, Cabinet Member for Leisure at Wiltshire Council, said: “Unfortunately due to the need for urgent structural works we have had to close Trowbridge Sports Centre.
"We are very sorry for the disruption and inconvenience this may cause. We encourage all those wanting to use leisure facilities to visit our neighbouring local sites.”
The council is working closely with Places Leisure who manage the site on behalf of the council.
Places Leisure also runs other sports and leisure centres in Bradford on Avon, Chippenham, Melksham, Warminster and Westbury.
