A WILTSHIRE College and University Centre student is hoping to beat sight issues to further her career in the UK music industry.
Willow Kayne, from Melksham, was left partially blind by an eye infection three years ago.
Willow said: "I'm not immune to a bacteria in water called acanthamoeba and when I was 15 I got a cyst on my right eye.
"Three out of four layers of my cornea were eaten away and I'm still blind in that eye because there's a scar completely over my pupil. It's not good.
But the 18-year-old is not letting the injury beat her and recently competed against 20 other finalists to become the 'sound' of the I SAW IT FIRST online UK fashion brand.
The 21 all-female finalists have had their music and videos produced by the brand and projected across social media, television advertisements and more.
She added: "It's incredible. Being chosen as one of the final 21 is a dream come true. I'm so happy.
"This whole year has been surreal. I keep having to pinch myself."
Describing herself as a “self-taught SoundCloud rapper”, Miss Kayne, a graphics and publishing student, began producing music at the age of 16.
Her music creations - a mixture of R&B, rap, soul, hip-hop and garage - uploaded to SoundCloud have since caught the attention of many music industry talent spotters.
Next July, she will fly to Los Angeles for one month to record with producer bigwigs including Bristol-born Bob Locke.
There's also a top-secret project in the pipeline with a high-profile British band which could raise her music industry profile even higher.
