A Trowbridge man who passed away at an address in the town last week died of natural causes, it was disclosed on Monday (December 23).
A post mortem last Friday (December 20) concluded that Shaun Ryan, 56, from Spinners Croft, Trowbridge died of natural causes due to on-going medical issues.
A Wiltshire Police spokesman said: "A 28-year-old man arrested at the scene has now been released and no further action will be taken against him. Our thoughts are with his family at this difficult time."
Mr Ryan, who was diabetic and disabled, died suddenly at home in the early hours of Thursday (December 18).
He was found collapsed on the floor of the lounge at his home by his son Tim Ryan.
Mr Ryan’s daughter, Kirsty, 30, paid tribute to her father, saying: "The family would like to say we are deeply sadden to say we have lots our beloved dad, husband and granddad.
"We are all still in shock and coming to terms with this.
"My dad was a gentle giant, who loved his family and friends with all his heart. He was a much-loved man by so many people.
"He would do anything for anyone who needed it, but was happy to put you in your place if you were acting a muppet - that was just dad.
"Our world will never be the same again with out him, and we would like to thank everyone for their kind words and messages at this time."
Mr Ryan was discovered by his son, Tim Ryan, 28, at 4.50am after they had walked one of Tim’s friends home.
Police were called by the South Western Ambulance Service at 5.20am, after the paramedics arrived at the house following a 999 call.
Mr Ryan was a mechanic and fabrication engineer who had not worked for several years because of his health.
